I was lucky enough to be told about and provided a copy of this book by a fellow Twitterer and one of the books author's. I feel very lucky to have had this book brought to my attention. It is an amazing read.

I myself am a Lesbian who with her partner, had a child through donor insemination. It was amazing to read other's stories about their adventures as queer parents and even donors. Some of the stories I could relate to. Others I was amazed at.

The wonderful underlying theme was the individual desires of the people in the stories to either have a child or to help someone who wants to have a child. It is truly touching to read adventures of people who adore children, desire children and cannot wait to have their little one enter their world.

There are many people in this world that criticize queer families. More recently there have been articles written that state research shows that children who are brought up by lesbians are happier and healthier. The main reason for this is because in order for us to have children as queer parents, we need to make extraordinary efforts to have the dream realized. It is not just a night of drunk sex and oops we are pregnant. Or oops our birth control did not work.

We as queer parents do not have the heterosexual "accidents." If queer parents have a child it is because it is a life dream. We know we want to care for a small, fragile child and nurture them to adulthood. We know what we want. We also know that it takes extra efforts and often a ton of money to realize our dream of parenthood.

If you are a queer parent or are thinking of becoming a queer parent, then I recommend that you purchase this book and give it a read. Every story is interesting in its own way. Your story will be different no doubt and interesting in its own way.

My story, is amazing. Why? Because I had my daughter from an unknown donor after 2 years of trying. I almost died giving birth to her, but I pulled through. My story is most interesting because we have the perfect little girl. I cannot imagine life before her. She is truly 'My Dream Come True' and that is what makes my story amazing in its own way.
